A joint review of your architecture and of the regulations that apply in Europe and Germany.

  • UN R155/R156 and ISO/SAE 21434
  • UN ADS regulation, EU 2022/1426 and the German Level 4 law (StVG)
  • UN R171 (DCAS)
  • EU Cyber Resilience Act and EU Data Act
02

Qualification

Your path to qualification by European OEMs.

  • TARA and cybersecurity case
  • Cybersecurity interface agreement
  • Training for engineering, homologation and service teams
  • Onboarding into OEM processes and SBOM requirements
03

European adaptation

Together, we adapt your projects and products for Europe.

  • TARA and security concepts for European variants
  • Independent penetration tests of vehicles, ECUs and OTA
  • Teleoperation and remote supervision, backend and apps
  • Charging products
One point of contact: a specialised core team in Germany, backed by a vetted partner network for large programmes.

02Automated and autonomous driving

Experience in automated driving and Level 4.

A specialised German team with OEM-side experience. Talk to us about a project or simply a question.

03Focus on Germany

German readiness.

Partner readiness, with a focus on Germany

Together, we get ready for what German and European OEMs, fleet customers and assessors ask, and help initiate the right conversations.

KBA and federal states

Germany has had a legal framework for Level 4 since 2021. Operation requires a KBA permit or EU type approval and an operating area approved by the responsible state authority.

Technical supervision

A technical supervisor can intervene remotely, over radio links protected against unauthorised access.

German OEMs

They work with ISO/SAE 21434 work products, TISAX®-level information security and clear cybersecurity interface agreements.

Data protection

Camera and location data in public spaces fall under the GDPR and the German data protection authorities.

04Regulatory affairs

Where the rules stand.

As of November 2026.

Since 11 Sep 2026 · from 11 Dec 2027

EU Cyber Resilience Act

Reporting obligations since 11 September 2026, full obligations from 11 December 2027.

From 12 Sep 2026

EU Data Act

Access by design for new connected products.

Since 1 Aug 2025

RED delegated act · EN 18031

Cybersecurity requirements for internet-connected radio equipment.

From 20 Jan 2027

EU Machinery Regulation

Including protection against corruption of machinery and its software.

Since 2021

Germany: Level 4

Legal framework for Level 4 with technical supervision and protected radio links.

The frameworks we work with

  • UN R155 / R156Cybersecurity and software update management systems (CSMS, SUMS)
  • ISO/SAE 21434Cybersecurity engineering for road vehicles
  • ISO 24089Software update engineering
  • Level 4 rulesUN ADS regulation, EU 2022/1426 and the German Level 4 law (StVG)
  • UN R171Driver control assistance systems (DCAS)
  • EU Cyber Resilience ActChargers, storage, connected accessories, backend and apps
  • EU Data ActAccess to and sharing of vehicle and service data

05For suppliers

Your path to qualification by European OEMs

European OEMs work with a defined cybersecurity process. We have negotiated these interfaces from the OEM side and know the work products involved.

  • Cybersecurity interface agreements (CIA): who provides which work product
  • Onboarding of your teams into the OEM’s security process and templates
  • SBOM, vulnerability monitoring and incident handling as the OEM practises them
  • TARA and security concepts for your component or system
  • Independent penetration tests

08FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Do you work with companies outside the EU?

Yes. We work with manufacturers and suppliers worldwide who develop for the European market. Much of the work can be done remotely; workshops and tests can take place on site in Europe.

Is automITe certified under ISO/SAE 21434?

ISO/SAE 21434 does not certify companies. Our engineers are qualified as Automotive Cybersecurity Engineers (TÜV NORD), and we hold a TISAX® label with assessment level 3.

Can you work in our tools and templates?

Yes. We usually work in your process, tools and templates, so the work products fit straight into your organisation.

How do you handle confidential data and prototypes?

Under NDA and according to our TISAX®-assessed processes. Client names are confidential; references can be discussed in person.

Beyond the vehicle: chargers, energy storage, robotics and other connected products can fall under the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
