Hosting and server log files
The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in the Falkenstein data centre in Germany. Hetzner processes the data as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR).
When you open a page, your browser transmits data to our server for technical reasons. Our web server logs:
- your IP address in shortened form (for IPv4 without the last byte, for IPv6 only the first three blocks)
- date and time of the request
- requested page or file, status code and amount of data transferred
- referrer URL as well as browser and operating system
The full IP address is only processed to establish the connection and deliver the page; it is not stored. Because of the shortening, the logs cannot be attributed to a person. We only use them to find errors and to protect the website against attacks, do not combine them with other data and delete them regularly. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
To show you the English version, our server reads the language setting your browser sends with every request. When you open our start page and your browser is not set to German, we forward you to the English start page. This setting is not stored.
Contact by email or phone
If you contact us, we process your details to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if the request concerns a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering it (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
We process emails with Microsoft 365 of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, as our processor. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out; it takes place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses.
We delete your request once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations, for example under commercial and tax law, require otherwise.
Unencrypted emails are not completely protected against access by third parties in transit. For confidential content, we are happy to agree on an encrypted channel with you.
Booking appointments via Microsoft Bookings
For booking appointments, we link to Microsoft Bookings. Only when you click the link do you reach a page operated by Microsoft. We process the data you enter there, such as name, email address and preferred time, to arrange and hold the appointment (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Microsoft acts as our processor; for transfers to the USA, the information on emails applies. We delete the appointment data when it is no longer needed for the meeting and its follow-up.
Job applications
If you apply to us, for example by email to karriere@automite.de, we process your details and documents to decide on your application. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation of an employment relationship). Only the people involved in the selection process see your documents. If you wish, you can send your application PGP-encrypted.
If you are hired, we transfer the data to your personnel file. Otherwise, we delete it six months after the end of the procedure; we keep it for that long to be able to defend ourselves against possible claims (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). If you would like to be considered for future positions, we only store your documents for longer with your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Links to other websites
Links, for example to LinkedIn or to publications, are simple references. No data is transferred to these providers when you visit our pages. Only when you follow a link does the privacy policy of the respective provider apply.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set cookies and do not store any information in your browser. Consent under § 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) is therefore not required.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). An informal message to info@automite.de is sufficient.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.
Right to object
Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you can object to this at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Obligation to provide data, no automated decision-making
You are not obliged to provide us with personal data. Without your contact details, however, we cannot process your request, appointment or application. There is no automated decision-making, including profiling.
Encryption
The connection to this website is encrypted with TLS. You can recognise this by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
